Women of Faith in Conversation: Finding Harmony in Times of Crisis

Last February 4, the FCJ Centre co-hosted Women of Faith in Conversation: Finding Harmony in Times of Crisis as part of the 2026 United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week, welcoming 55 participants for an evening of reflection, dialogue, and connection. Women from diverse faith traditions gathered to share how their beliefs and spiritual practices foster harmony, compassion, and understanding during challenging times.

The evening began with a deep and meaningful activity centered on rivers and water as a shared theme. Participants were invited to reflect on their personal connections to water and to explore its significance and varied uses across different faith traditions and cultures. This opening activity created a strong sense of connection, highlighting both the richness of diversity and the common ground shared among participants.

Through personal stories and lived experiences, seven speakers have shared how faith guides their responses to crisis, encouraging peace, solidarity, and care for one another. The gathering created a welcoming and respectful space for listening and sharing, offering many opportunities for participants to engage in conversation, and learn from one another.

As voices from different faith traditions were heard, participants discovered the rich resources that faith can bring, resources that nurture resilience, deepen empathy, and strengthen a shared commitment to harmony within our communities. The evening served as a powerful reminder of the role faith can play in bringing people together, especially in times of uncertainty. #
