An Exercise in Writing Your Personal Statement of Faith

Our faith in God, our relationship with Jesus Christ, and our reliance on the Holy Spirit grows as our experience of life grows. Throughout our life, traditional creeds have held us and provided a doorway to exploring the sacredness of our life. We develop a greater appreciation for this growth when we intentionally examine the development of our beliefs over time. In this retreat, we will reflect on the ever-changing growth of our faith and seek to find words that express how we currently understand ourselves as a person in a relationship with the Holy Mystery of God.

Rev Rick Beck is a retired pastor of 32 years in team ministry with his wife, Wendy. Rick and Wendy have served four churches in the Moravian Church of North America (Alberta, Wisconsin & Pennsylvania) and enjoy two grown children and a granddaughter. Rick also has twelve years of spiritual direction experience and is part of the spiritual direction training team at the FCJ Christian Life Centre. Rick offers spiritual direction to both individuals and groups, as well as retreats.
