19th Annotation - INDIVIDUAL Directed Retreat in Everyday Life

The   Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola

St. Ignatius considered this retreat a school of the heart, a school of prayer, and a school of discernment. Deepen your relationship with the Lord through this time-tested series of meditations, contemplations, and other spiritual exercises.

Days and times of weekly, in-person individual spiritual direction sessions at the FCJ Centre will be scheduled by the individual participant and the spiritual director. If a participant cannot come to the FCJ Centre, arrangements can be made to meet in another location or on Zoom. Participants will receive the Introductory Meeting link when receiving the confirmation email.

A limited number of spaces available.

September 20, 2021; through June 6, 2022, with monthly payments of $125/month.  Participants must contact the Reception Ph: (403) 228-4215 or reception@fcjcentre.ca, to complete the rest of the payments.

Director (s):

Sr. Ann Marie Walsh, fcJ a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), is on staff at the FCJ Christian Life Centre where she offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats. Following many years in Catholic education, both as a teacher and administrator and as a Local Leader in her own religious congregation, Ann Marie received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario. She was a member of the retreat staff there before coming to Calgary in 2012. Ann Marie loves the ministry of spiritual direction. She delights in reminding people that they are individually loved by God and journeying with people who are searching for a closer relationship with God.

Patricia Harasym, a member of the FCJ Centre Resource Team, offers spiritual direction, individual and group retreats, and courses at the FCJ Centre. Patricia is on the National Council for the Canadian Community for Christian Meditation, practices Christian Meditation, and facilitates Christian Meditation groups through the FCJ Centre. Patricia received her training in Ignatian Spiritual Direction at the FCJ Centre Calgary and her Masters and Ph.D. level training in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. Her passion for compassionate and equitable communication underlays her deep desire to find God in all things.

Karen Wold has Lutheran roots and a heart for ecumenical and interfaith collaboration. As a Spiritual Director, Karen has a particular interest in Ignatian Spirituality and has completed additional training in giving the Spiritual Exercises. She is also learning the art of companioning through BioSpiritual Focusing. Karen is an active member of the Calgary Association of Spiritual Exercises Apostolate (CASEA). She enjoys gardening, hiking with her family, and watching for wildflowers.

Lisa Gilead has been involved in Ignatius Spirituality for over 12 years through her association with the FCJ Community as a Companion in Mission. She completed the 19th Annotation Retreat in 2019 Lisa is a certified Spiritual Director having completed the Spiritual Direction Training Program offered at the FCJ Christian Life Centre and continues to offer spiritual direction at the Centre. Lisa treasures the opportunities to journey with others as they deepen their relationship with God.
