On Sunday, April 12, more than 30 children from St. Basil's Melkite Greek Catholic Church Scouts gathered at the Centre to celebrate the Sunday after Easter and enjoy a fun-filled egg hunt together. The event brought together around 12 parents and 8 dedicated volunteers, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere for everyone involved.

The day began with a prayer led by Sister Ann Marie, FCJ, followed by a short and engaging explanation of some Easter traditions. She shared the meaning behind symbols such as the rabbit and the colored eggs, helping the children understand the deeper significance of the celebration in a simple and meaningful way. She also spoke about the hope and new life that come from the resurrection of Jesus, reminding everyone that Easter is a time of renewal, joy, and faith.

Afterward, the children enjoyed a creative craft session, coloring ceramics eggs, rabbits, chick , and other Easter-themed items to take home. Despite the cold weather, kids along with the volunteer  went outside for the egg hunt in the Centre garden, searching everywhere to find the hidden beautiful eggs where laughter and excitement filled the air.

This followed with a time of sharing food together, giving everyone a chance to connect and enjoy the moment. The children left with their crafts, collected eggs, and many happy memories from a beautiful day spent in community.

It was a joyful day filled with laughter, learning, and togetherness reminding us all of the beauty of community and the hope that Easter brings through the resurrection of Jesus.#
