A New Prayer to Contemplate Creation

On September 19 at 6 PM, nine participants came together for the first Via Creationis, organized by the Laudato Si’ Committee at the FCJ Centre.

Similar to how the Via Crucis commemorates the mystery of the Passion, the Via Creationis commemorates the mystery of Creation. It does so by reading side by side the two sacred books that God wrote: liber scripturae and liber naturae, the Book of Scripture and the Book of the Cosmos, as St. Augustine and other saints have taught throughout history. By reading both books together, participants gain a richer appreciation of the great mystery of God’s creation of the cosmos. Participants were encouraged to pause, observe, and appreciate the beauty and depth of the cosmos, deepening their sense of wonder and connection to Creation.
