Take A Break: Directed Silent Retreat - July 22, 2022

The Take a Break weekends provide a silent retreat experience in a brief form. Over the weekend, you will have personal prayer and reflection time in your own comfortable private room, in the beautiful surroundings of our chapel and on our beautiful well-groomed grounds. A daily meeting with a Spiritual Director will help you to unpack your retreat experience and offer further prayer suggestions. It is a golden opportunity to deepen your personal relationship with God and to discover anew how much God loves you! Delicious meals prepared in our kitchen and snacks are provided on the Saturday and Sunday morning. The retreat concludes after lunch on Sunday. There is free parking at the Centre. Sonya is a trained Spiritual Director with over a decade of experience offering individual and group Spiritual Direction (“SD”), SD Supervision, and retreats with a focus on Silence, Nature, Scripture, Music, Contemplation and Prayer. She is one of the leaders of the Spiritual Direction Training Program (SDTP) and a member of the Program & Facilitation Resource Team at the FCJ Centre. Sonya’s background includes Master’s degrees in Divinity, Leadership and Ministry, as well as advanced degrees in Music and Theology. She has been a music instructor and animal sitter and loves the beneficial healing attributes that naturally flow from both. Her deep passion for hospitality, Scripture, faith-formation and living a contemplative and unconventional non-busy lifestyle exude through her charism and ministry style.
