Director (s):

Sr. Ann Marie Walsh, a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats at the FCJ Christian Life Centre and in parishes. Following many years in Catholic education, both as a teacher and administrator, Ann Marie received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario and served on staff there before coming to Calgary in 2012. Ann Marie loves the ministry of spiritual direction and delights in journeying with people searching for a closer relationship with God.

Karen Wold has Lutheran roots and a heart for ecumenical and interfaith collaboration. As a Spiritual Director, Karen has a particular interest in Ignatian Spirituality and has completed additional training in giving the Spiritual Exercises. She is also learning the art of companioning through BioSpiritual Focusing. Karen is an active member of the Calgary Association of the Spiritual Exercises Apostolate (CASEA). She enjoys gardening, hiking with her family, and watching for wildflowers.

Patricia Harasym, a member of the FCJ Centre Resource Team, offers spiritual direction, individual and group retreats, and courses at the FCJ Centre. Patricia received her training in Ignatian Spiritual Direction at the FCJ Centre Calgary and her Masters and Ph.D. level training in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. A lay Benedictine oblate, Patricia has practiced Christian Meditation in the tradition of Fr. John Main and the World Community of Christian Meditation for 25 years. Taught by Engeline Piet, she writes a monthly Christian Meditation newsletter and facilitates Christian Meditation groups through the FCJ Centre. Patricia’s background in research on patients’ and providers’ lived experiences of health and illness and her passion for compassionate and equitable communication underlays her deep desire to find God in all things.
