About the Event

Heroic Leadership Book Study - Deepening our Leadership Skills

This evening is the first in a four-part series of meetings that focus on a now-famous book, Heroic Leadership, by Chris Lowney. In it, he distills essential elements of Ignatian spirituality and applies them to corporate leadership. Along the way, he entertains the reader with anecdotes from the Jesuit’s 500 years of applying the principles that made them the largest religious order in the Roman Catholic world. This book study is an ideal follow-up for those who were part of the Enhancing Leadership Skills program in the fall of 2020.

Sessions: Fall 2021

Director (s):

Sr. Ann Marie Walsh, a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats at the FCJ Christian Life Centre and in parishes. She received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario and served on staff there before coming to Calgary in 2012. Ann Marie loves the ministry of spiritual direction and delights in journeying with people searching for a closer relationship with God.

Patricia Harasym, a member of the FCJ Centre Resource Team, offers spiritual direction, retreats and programs at the FCJ. Patricia received her training in Ignatian Spiritual Direction at the FCJ Centre and her Masters and Ph.D. training in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. Patricia practices Christian Meditation in the tradition of Fr. John Main and is the Alberta and Saskatchewan coordinator on the National Board for the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) Canada. Patricia’s passion for compassionate and equitable communication underlays her commitment to silent prayer.
