About the Event

This 7 Week Lenten Ignatian Retreat in Daily Life is inspired by and based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and uses prayer resources as designed by Fr. Joseph Tetlow, SJ as well as from other sources. For those who cannot get away for a retreat this lent, the retreat is an opportunity to have an at home retreat. While this retreat requires a serious commitment of prayer and reflection time, it provides an opportunity to deepen your relationship with God and to share your spiritual journey with others. Through this time of contemplation, prayer, and reflection, you will discover how you can more easily discover God in all things and return love for love! The weekly group meeting with your co-retreatants and spiritual directors enables you to relish the way God is working in your life and in the lives of others and invites you to further growth. Faith sharing is always such a rich experience!

Program runs online every Monday from February 28 to April 11.

Directors:

Sr. Ann Marie Walshis a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), and a staff member at the FCJ Christian Life Centre. She offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats in person and on-line. Ann Marie came to the FCJ Centre in 2012 after many years in Catholic Education, both as a teacher and an administrator. She has held various leadership roles in her congregation. Having received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario, she was a member of the retreat staff there before coming to Calgary. The ministry of spiritual direction gives her the opportunity to remind people that God loves them uniquely and individually. Accompanying people in their search for a closer relationship with God brings her joy.

Karen Wold has Lutheran roots and a heart for ecumenical and interfaith collaboration. As a Spiritual Director, Karen has a particular interest in Ignatian Spirituality and has completed additional training in giving the Spiritual Exercises. She is also learning the art of companioning through BioSpiritual Focusing. Karen is an active member of the Calgary Association of Spiritual Exercises Apostolate (CASEA). She enjoys gardening, hiking with her family, and watching for wildflowers.
