My Story, Your Story, God’s Story. Finding meaning in the story of our lives.

A weekend experience of seeking and finding God through story-telling. There is only one story and it’s God’s story.  We find ourselves in God’s story by savouring not only our own story but by listening to the stories of those with whom we share life.

Director (s):

Rev. Rick Beck has been in pastoral ministry with the Moravian Church for 32 years.  He currently serves the Good Shepherd Community Church in Calgary.  In 2009 Rick was trained as a spiritual director through the FCJ Christian Life Centre and is currently one of the instructors of the Spiritual Direction Training Program (SDTP).  He also offers training for churches interested in establishing spiritual companioning groups in their congregations.  Rick discovered storytelling as a vital part of his preaching and youth ministries while in seminary and has offered retreats and workshops using this genre in Alberta, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.  Rick believes there is only one story and it’s God’s story.  We find ourselves in God’s story by savouring not only our story but the stories of those with whom we share life.
