Advent Silent Directed Extended Retreat - Dec. 9, 2022

The season of Advent is a time of waiting in hope and preparing ourselves to receive Christ anew into our hearts and our lives. This retreat is an invitation to come to know Christ in a new and deeper way as you prepare to welcome the Light of the World -Jesus Christ - at Christmas!

This silent-directed retreat will give you some time to step aside and reflect on the deeper meaning of this time of year. A trained spiritual director will meet with you once a day and offer you some guidelines for prayer. You will have time for private prayer and reflection, walks on our beautiful property or in the nearby park, and delicious meals prepared by our talented kitchen staff. The FCJ Centre’s comfortable and peaceful accommodations will add to your retreat experience. Free parking is available.

Director:

Sr. Ann Marie Walsh, a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), is on staff at the FCJ Christian Life Centre where she offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats in person and online. Following many years in Catholic Education, both as a teacher and an administrator, and as a Local Leader in her own religious congregation, Ann Marie received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario. She was a member of the retreat staff there before coming to Calgary in 2012. Ann Marie loves the ministry of spiritual direction. She delights in reminding people that they are individuals.
