A night of reflection and joyful feast

On February 13th, the FCJ Christian Life Centre gathered young adults at the FCJ Retreat and Conference Centre to celebrate Mardi Gras in preparation for the upcoming Lenten season. While Mardi Gras is typically known for its lively festivities and colorful parade in New Orleans, this event took a more meaningful approach by exploring the relationship between Mardi Gras and its Christian traditions.

The evening included presentations about Mardi Gras and activities for young adults to participate in that reflected the typical celebrations of the holiday. Facilitators also discussed the deeper meaning of celebrating Mardi Gras as a way to prepare oneself for fasting during the Lenten season. The young adults were divided into small groups to share their thoughts and personal experiences related to the topic.

The night concluded with a reflection on how to prepare for Lent and an encouragement for participants to engage in daily self-reflection through the practice of Daily Examen. #
