This 4-week series involves the creation of a fabric piece to enable us to reflect on our spirituality; who we are at the present time; our inner and outer self. Through symbols, colours and shapes , stamping, stenciling and sewing we will gather our scattered pieces to form an original art piece.

This workshop gives opportunity to reflect on one’s life, take time to pray and find a symbol to

express oneself or one’s relationship with God.  Coloured fabric can be pieced around the symbol, or collage may be used. The finished piece will be made into a pillow cover to use in your favourite chair.

No previous collage or sewing experience required. Sewing machines will be available for those who wish to use one and  all materials will be supplied. Bring a small sharp scizzors if you have one.

Sr Ita Connery, FCJ, has been in the ministry of Spiritual Direction and retreat work for over 30 years. Her specialty areas cover dreams, Celtic spirituality, retreats on various spiritual topics, Ignatian spirituality, typology, the Enneagram, and personal growth. Ita uses art, quilting and mandalas and gardening as tools for exploring questions about life, faith, and spirituality. Trained in Myers-Briggs Typology and in Ignatian spirituality, Ita also holds a Certificate in Jungian Psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland and is also a Mid-life consultant.

Suzanne Clease  is a psychotherapist, professional art therapist, facilitator and fibre artist who dabbles in acrylics., watercolour and creates mixed media representations. She enjoys bringing meaningful art experiences to   interested and curious creatives.
