About the Event

Easter is a season of great hope. For people who desire to make this Easter a time of deepening their spirituality with daily prayer, reflection, group sharing, and spiritual direction, we are offering a 5-Week Easter Ignatian Retreat in Everyday Life.

Easter is a time or renewal and rebirth! Indeed, it is a season of hope. In these times, this retreat can provide an opportunity to restart and/or renew your spiritual growth. This group retreat at the FCJ Centre is inspired by and rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, and is based on the work of Joseph Tetlow, SJ. While this retreat requires a serious commitment of prayer and reflection time, it provides an opportunity to deepen your relationship with God and to share your spiritual journey with others. Through this time of contemplation, prayer, and reflection, you will discover how you can more easily discover God in all things and return love for love! The weekly group meeting with your co-retreatants and spiritual directors enables you to relish the way God is working in your life and in the lives of others and invites you to further growth. Faith sharing is always such a rich experience!

This is a 5-week program running weekly on Mondays, except first week which is a Tuesday. Dates of the program are Apr 19, Apr 25, May 2, 9, 16.

Directors:

Sr. Ann Marie Walsh is a member of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), and a staff member at the FCJ Christian Life Centre. She offers individual spiritual direction and individual or group retreats in person and on-line. Ann Marie came to the FCJ Centre in 2012 after many years in Catholic Education, both as a teacher and an administrator. She has held various leadership roles in her congregation. Having received her training in spiritual direction with the Jesuits at Loyola House in Guelph, Ontario, she was a member of the retreat staff there before coming to Calgary. The ministry of spiritual direction gives her the opportunity to remind people that God loves them uniquely and individually. Accompanying people in their search for a closer relationship with God brings her joy.

Patricia Harasym, a member of the FCJ Centre Resource Team, offers spiritual direction, individual and group retreats, and courses at the FCJ Centre. Patricia is on the National Council for the Canadian Community for Christian Meditation and facilitates Christian Meditation groups through the FCJ Centre. Patricia received her training in Ignatian Spiritual Direction at the FCJ Centre Calgary and her Master’s and PhD level training in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. Her passion for compassionate and equitable communication underlays her deep desire to find God in all things.
