Annual UN Observance Week 2019: February 1-7, 2019
United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week is an annual event observed during the first week of February.
FCJ Christian Life Centre will be represented at all events. In particular, on January 31, 2019, the FCJ Centre will have a stand representing our activities and events, in the Atrium of City Hall. It would be lovely to see you there!
The theme for the observance of the Interfaith Harmony Week for 2019 is "I Choose Civility: Listening, Caring, Engaging." Practicing Civility in the Home, Workplace, and Public Arena.
We invite you to sign the CIC Civility Pledge and be a force for enhancing our society. Please sign the pledge below and take your place among women, men and children who are committed to restoring civility to personal and public discourse.
The FCJ Christian Life Centre has endorsed this pledge and ask you to join with us in signing it. This pledge can be e mailed back to us or handed into the FCJ Centre or brought to any of the events.
The Calgary Interfaith Council functions on the principle that listening, caring, and engaging others with respect and humility are essential to building healthy and harmonious relationships among people of all faiths and backgrounds. Hospitality is central to all religious and ethnic traditions. Civility is the most basic ingredient in hospitality. As such it is the virtue that sustains a pluralistic society. Civility makes it safe for us to live together and learn to celebrate our differences so that we may experience the benefits of multiculturalism.
