Someone once asked: What are the myths that you live by? Good question. These personal myths of ours can become problematic as we deal with the people and situations in our life. “We are encumbered by old assumptions, burdened by memories that limit our horizons and therefore, unfree to see God coming to us from the future.” (Constance Fitzgerald odc) During this session, we will consider the influence of memories, assumptions, preconceived notions – about ourselves, God, or life. These can get in the way of our relationship with God. In contrast, this is what Scripture tells us about Mary: She “treasured all these things”. She “pondered on them in her heart.” Perhaps by prayerful reflection, we can learn from her approach to the mysteries of life.
